Lumen House is owned and operated by Luke Gabriel, a qualified electrician with eleven years’ experience in the industry. His work has involved designing, installing and commissioning a wide range of projects, varying in size and technical complexity.
As a child, Luke enjoyed spending his weekends repairing second-hand stereos from garage sales with his dad. This hobby later led him to working as a sound technician, setting up sound systems for a variety of concerts around Brisbane, as well as completing his electrical apprenticeship.
After learning the ins and outs of working in homes, businesses and factories, Luke decided to extend his training and experience by taking up an offer in the mining industry. Here he was exposed to working in hazardous areas and attending industrial machinery breakdowns. By now there aren’t many electrical complexities that Luke hasn’t come across and there are none that he has been unable to solve yet! With no further inclination to climb the corporate ladder in mining, Luke decided that the next obvious challenge would be this: to set up his own business.
Luke wanted to offer a business name that would sound fresh and artistic to the electrical industry. For those who are unaware, “lumen” is the name given to the measurement of light. The word “house” was chosen because it followed nicely.
